Chiado ★

This is one of the most elegant and emblematic neighbourhoods, where you can go eat, walk around or shop. You can relax in one of the many cafés and eateries, while enjoying all the architectural works around you and observe all the street entertainers performing there. If you want to go shopping on a place with all your favourite stores, this is it.

Praça do Comércio/ Comercio Plaza ★

In front of the Tejo River, you can find this plaza and its many attractions. Many people consider this the most important place in Lisbon, not only because of its historical context but because of what it offers.

In 1755, it was completely destroyed by the famous earthquake, and it had to be reconstructed. Marques de Pombal was assigned to design the new Plaza and decided to organize it and design it in a different, modern, and more prepared way. This place was really important, as it was the entrance to the merchant ships.

This is a wonderful area, with such a dynamic energy. There are restaurants and stores surrounding it, that you can visit to experience the Portuguese food and products.

Tejo River, in Belém ★

The area near the river, in Belém, with monuments like the Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries and with many restaurants and other attractions, is considered one of the most beautiful places to walk around. The 25 April Bridge (Ponte 25 de abril) can be seen from there. At night, it is wonderful, as there are many lights and people around there. 


Lx Factory ★ 

Lx Factory is a market located on the ruins of an old factory. It is a mix of the modern and the traditional, with numerous creative graffities and street art and with more than 50 different stores, restaurants, bars and cafés, it is an exceptional place.

Praça do Rossio

It can be considered one of the most dynamic zones of this city, surrounded by tons of restaurants, bars, cafés, stores and many monuments. There are always street entertainers, and it is a very pleasing place to walk around, as well as a symbolic neighbourhood.

It is also considered one of the best places to stay, because of its animated dynamic and because of its location in the centre of the city and near one of the most famous train stations of this country.

Docas de Santo Amaro/ Santo Amaro Docks

The docks are located on the east of the 25 April Bridge, and it is where many Portuguese boats lay. It is surrounded by cafés and restaurants, and it is a brilliant plan to spend an afternoon relaxing.

Cais do Sodré/ Sodré Pier

Cais do Sodré is one of the trendiest places in the city. It is located near Chiado, so it is a great plan to spend a day on. It is a unique and fashionable district. During the day, there is people walking there, looking at the river, and eating in restaurants. During the night, there are bars and clubs, and it is definitely the best place to party until the sun rises.

Príncipe Real e Embaixada/ Príncipe Real and Embassy

This district has all types of constructions, large and small, rich, and humble, high, and low maintenance, elegant and moderate. With personalized doors, tiles, windows and balconies, this area is charming. It also has tons and tons of restaurants with all kinds of food and excellent service and loads of stores with all styles and products. There are museums, monuments and palaces and the famous garden (Jardim Botânico).

One place that you cannot miss there is the Embassy, that has a different store in each room, two magnificent restaurants and a terrace on the palace's garden. Its interior is designed in the neoclassic style, and it is completely breath-taking. On some days of the week, you can listen to the traditional music of Portugal, fado, while eating.

Expo Parque das Nações/ Expo Nations Park

This zone of the city was an industrial area that got renewed in 1998 to the Mundial Exposition (that is why it is known as Expo). Now it is a new, modern, and historic area where many events and shows occur. It has enough attractions to an entire day, from just walking near the river to going to a museum or a show. The architecture is contemporary and innovative, and the Nations Park has a marine theme.

There is a cable car that passes through the whole district, so you can see it from an upper view. There is also fair (FIL - Feira Internacional de Lisboa) that has different expositions and events every month.

Alfama

Alfama is a traditional neighbourhood, and it is also one of the areas that better survived the 1775 earthquake. This is a cultural zone and has many restaurants, local commerce, and it is the perfect place to take photos. One of the most iconic characteristics of this district is its music, the famous Portuguese fado. There are many songs about Alfama and love, so it is normal to hear this type of music while walking down the street.
